last semester at Tulane

i can't believe my last semester as an undergrad is already here. a year ago as of two days ago i arrived in italy. now im back in the city of my heart, trying to figure out how not to ever have to say goodbye. it's been an amazing four years. a hard, trying, beautiful four years. i've been irreversibly changed, for better and for worse. i'm hoping more for the better.

last night was the year anniversary of the group i helped found. well the first anniversary of the readings. it began a year and a half ago and it's grown so amazingly. our proud papa Martin Pousson http://www.suspectthoughts.com/pousson.html
read for us. he was a professor at Loyola last year and was the one that approached kaitlin and myself with the idea of a joint-campus student run literary reading series. and off we went. and here we are now, packing the house at the Columns hotel and having hosted Poppie Z. Brenda Marie Osbey (the state poet laureate) http://www.osbey.com
Andre Codrescu http://codrescu.com/
Roget Kamenetz http://rodgerkamenetz.com
Paula Morris http://www.bookcouncil.org.nz/writers/morrispaula.html

to name a few.

it's been an amazing ride. and having martin last night (things got hectic when he missed his flight from LA, as he is now teaching at CSUN) was wonderful. we miss him something fierce. and he's one of, if not the, best readers we have ever had and i have ever had the pleasure to hearing.

so much love for all the kids that put on the events. our staff is just..phenomenal. gotta love it. i will be sad to leave it, though i know we are leaving it in good hands. kaitlin and i will be reading at the last reading of the season with Pia Erdheart.

way excited for that and all the classes i'm taking. it'll be an exciting semester, if sad to leave.
i'll always come back.
it's my home
