the wheels on the bus...

that was a lovely weekend indeed. i love how enough time goes between writing one entry and another that i have to check where the last one left off. what can i say, im a busy sleep deprived college student. its about the norm, no?

so. the weekend is as good of a place as any to write about considering that you know..it just ended

friday was nice. no classes on fridays, which we're still getting used to. its weird having a three day weeked, kind of disorienting to be honest. it was rainy as it'd been all week and we didnt do much. much lounging around and reading books. did some grocery shopping. we chilled at Good and then i got to do poi in a piazza and jen took tons of pictures. oh yea, jen tristan and jacelyn are the newest additions to our possee. we are the awesome-est. so yea, jen goes to azusa pacific and is just a blast. so anyway pictures again to come at somepoint when i have time to figure out the code. or rather take the time to figure out the code.

saturday we all went out shopping. there are huge sales here since its the end of the season. they go for like a month and its awesome. so i got a cute jacket and it makes me happy. on our way there we took the bus and it was hiiilarious. its a tiny one that goes through the little streets. aaand at one point the driver got turned around and these two older men on the bus started giving him directions and aruged over them a snippet of which is:
1: Left here
2. no! its right
1. it is left!
2. what are you talking about! it is right!

in reality, it was straight. so said the cop the bus driver pulled over to ask. straight and then right.we were amused.

then sarah and laura came in from naples. theyre in paris for the year and are on break so they came to visit. theyre here til thursday and its been so much fun seeing them again. i havent seen them since we left tulane last june.

sunday we all went to the vatican museum and st. peters basilica since its the last sunday of the month, and that means free entry. woo! did i mention we're broke college kids, because we are. so free=best thing ever.
so that was awesome. so much art and so much beauty, its really wonderful. i sort of wish i could get super inspired in a religious way by it all, instead of just being inspired in the "wow what beauty this religion can inspire". but such is life and really? beauty is beauty and art is art no matter the inspiration.

that night we left laura and sarah to make pasta for themselves and pass out since theyd had a looooong traveling experience. And jaya and i headed over to piazza cavour-ish for dinner with this woman, paola, who i'd met on the plane. we had a lovely time figuring out the bus system here which makes about as much sense as the mail system, but finally did get there. Paola had invited a few of her friends from work so it was 7 of us for dinner. 3 italian women, a german couple and us. so a dinner full of wonderful homecooked roman food and fascinating conversation. really quite lovely and didnt get home til almost one. and then had class at 9.
but so worth it.

and today i had zen, was quite sleepy through it, but its interesting. definitely going to be a class that needs time taken out to think. aand then i fixed the drain which had backed up, and read, and then we made an awesome dinner (the 4 of us in our small kitchen was hiiilarious) and now we're here at the cafe again.

sounds like a nice routine to me.

<3!
ciao
